It all started in the woods.
We are obsessed with the smell balsam fir trees: fresh, energizing, wild. We wanted to bring that smell from walks and hikes in the New Hampshire White Mountains woods into our life off-trail, too. I browsed countless balsam candles in stores and online and struggled to find a spot on scent matched with quality ingredients. It had to be a CLEAN candle that didn’t bother my nose because my sinuses are super sensitive.
Frustrated by the “it’s not quite right!” and overly perfumed or sweet fragrance of a lot of scented candles out there in the world, my partner and I did a bunch of research and testing and made our own soy candles. Once we nailed the balsam blend, we dove into crafting other natural, earthy fragrances that felt true to nature, a bit unexpected, and most importantly, pleasing and kind to the senses.
